APTDC Prepares To Promote Vanajangi As A New Tourist Site | Visakhapatnam News

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), in association with the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), is launching a new tourist site – Vanajangi – in the Visakhapatnam agency, located 10 kilometers from the ITDA headquarters in Paderu.
One of the main features of this booming tourist spot will be the cable car. Since Vanajangi is located 4,000 feet above sea level, tourists have to walk almost an hour to reach the top of the hill. A cable car will play the role of facilitator, explains DG Prasad Reddy, division director of APTDC Visakhapatnam.
If the cable car plan takes off, it will only be the second such facility after the one in Kailasagiri Hills along the Bay of Bengal, Reddy said, while adding, “Everything is in the planning stage right now. We have officially brought these characteristics to the attention of our superiors.
“There will be a meeting with senior ITDA officials next week. Then we can get a clear picture. Overall, we have claimed to develop Vanajangi as a tourist attraction as one of the best in the state after Araku Valley, ”Reddy told STOI.
ITDA sources said Vanajangi was in the limelight as recently as last year for her unique characteristics. Tourists visit the place to appreciate its natural beauty here, according to sources.
“For the past two months, the place was packed with visitors. The narrow road built of stone and clay was crowded with vehicles. There is a proposal to draw a route to this location in the ITDA. We will see what kind of infrastructure is needed to develop this project, ”said an ITDA official.
Located in the Eastern Ghats, Vanajangi is 100 kilometers from the town of Vizag and south of Araku, one of the state’s most popular tourist destinations.
