Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh said the district would become one of the biggest tourist destinations in central India, during a media workshop on collector tourism on Friday.
Singh said tourism was selected for Hoshangabad’s One District One product plan as part of the Aatmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh campaign. Suggestions from media representatives will prove to be effective in promoting tourism, he added.
âAn integrated tourism plan has been prepared by the administration to promote tourism in the district. Not only will these centers be made friendly to tourism, but the roads leading to them will also be upgraded to leave an eternal impression in the minds of tourists, âhe said.
It will also help create jobs for local youth, Singh added.
He added, âBesides the activities carried out in natural tourist spots like Pachmarhi, Madhai and Tawa, other tourism related activities have been offered, in which tourists coming to Pachmarhi will now benefit from an online booking service for a gypsy for a picnic.
In addition to water sports and camping facilities at Champak Lake, a marathon will be organized that will cross Pachmarhi to Matkuli, he said.
âEfforts will be made to include it in the international marathon calendar. Along with this, Forsyth Trail Cycling, Pachmarhi Bio Diversity Utsav, Stargazing, Rural Tourism, Golf Course Development, Neemghan Adventure Package and Silk Soonir Shop will also be installed in the MPT hotel, âSingh added.
The plan proposes that an interpretation center be set up for Madai where tourists can get information on rare wildlife, biological diversity under STR in addition to the tiger.
