Janjehli will be developed as a key tourist site: CM Jai Ram Thakur: The Tribune India

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said a comprehensive development plan would be prepared to develop Janjehli as a major tourist destination in Mandi district. The CM was presiding over the closing ceremony of the Janjehli Tourism Festival in Janjehli in Seraj Assembly Constituency of Mandi District today.

The CM said the Janjehli festival aims to promote tourism in the region which is immensely endowed with natural beauty and a salubrious climate. He said that the whole region has immense tourism potential. Once fully exploited, it could become a new tourist destination for tourists.

“Shikari Mata Temple was not only an important center from a religious point of view, but it was also gradually emerging as a favorite spot for tourists. The state government is committed to developing this place from a tourism point of view by creating adequate tourism infrastructure,” he added.

“An Asian Development Bank (ADB) project was being implemented in the state to develop lesser-known tourist destinations under the “Nai Raahein Nai Manzilein” program. A mega tourism project of Club Mahindra was preparing in Janjheli and would be completed in the next few months. An inspection hut built by spending a sum of Rs 3.60 crore at Janjehli would go a long way in providing catering and accommodation facilities for tourists,” Thakur said.

He said the Janjehli-Raigarh-Shikari Mata road was improved by spending an amount of Rs 7.36 crore to facilitate the visit of tourists to the Shikari Mata temple. Seraj Kala Manch would be built in Dheem Kataru. The state government ensured equitable development of each area of ​​the state with emphasis on the areas which had remained neglected until now.

The CM congratulated the winners of the Mrs. and Miss Seraj contests organized during the festival. Kiran won ‘Mrs Seraj Crown’ and Tripta Chauhan won ‘Miss Seraj Crown’, while Roop Singh was judged as ‘Melody of Seraj’. He also presented prizes to the winners of various events on occasion.

Previously, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 19 development projects in Dheem Kataru for Seraj assembly constituency. He inaugurated 12 development projects worth Rs 51.46 crore and laid the foundation stone for seven projects worth

11.95 million rupees.
