Queen Ahilyabai Holkar statue to be installed at KV Dham | Varanasi News



Varanasi: The statue of Queen Maratha, Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, who had the Kashi Vishwanath temple rebuilt in 1777, will be installed in the Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 13.
In addition to honoring Queen Maratha, the KV Dham will also enshrine the statues of Aadi Shankaracharya, Bharat Mata (Mother India) and Lord Kartikeya at key points in the hallway.
Busy preparing for the Prime Minister’s inauguration of over 700 crores of KV Dham, Divisional Commissioner Deepak Agrawal told TOI on Tuesday: “Over 85% of the work on the KV Dham project is complete and finishing is underway in most of the countries. buildings constructed in the corridor area. The process of restoring the idols of Goddess Parvati, Goddess Annapurna, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and Lord Satyanarayan in the premises of KV temple began in installing prefabricated temples there.
Agrawal added, “The process of installing the statues of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, Adi Shankaracharya, Bharat Mata and Lord Kartikeya has also started. The statue of Adi Shankaracharya will be installed at the KV Dham entry point near the ghat along the Ganges.
“The statue of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar will be installed near the tourist entertainment center, while the statue of Bharat Mata will be mounted near Mandir Chowk. The statue of Lord Kartikeya is being installed near KVT. Each statue is 6.5 feet high and will be installed on stone plinths, ”he added.
Since its construction by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar in 1977, the Kashi Vishwanath temple, considered among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, has experienced development for the first time.
Going through the detailed project report of the KV Dham project in November 2018, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the authorities to ensure that the statue of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar was installed as a tribute to her for the reconstruction of KVT in 1777 after its destruction at Mughal. period.
After viewing KV Dham’s DPR in December 2018 before laying the groundwork for the project in March 2019, the Prime Minister also paid tribute to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar and paved the way for the development of facilities for a hassle-free visit by pilgrims to this sacred shrine. In February 2020, the Prime Minister said: “It seems that after 18th century Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, Lord Vishwanath gave us the responsibility of developing Kashi.
Regarding the KV Dham inauguration date, Agrawal said all preparations are underway given the high probability of the Prime Minister’s visit on December 13, but the final schedule will be announced after PMO confirmation.
