TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, in a meeting on Wednesday, revealed that it will test the use of the Covid-19 PeduliLindungi tracking app as a requirement at 20 tourist sites. The 20 tourist destinations will become the first to adopt this program.

The Deputy of Industry and Investments of the Ministry Fadjar Hutomo, opening the meeting, declared: “This attempt follows the instructions of the Ministry of the Interior on the implementation of the various levels of restriction of public activity ( PPKM) and the experimentation of the opening of tourist sites under strict sanitary protocol and adoption of the PeduliLindungi application.

He said the app will be tested at tourist sites in Jakarta, West Java, East Java and Yogyakarta, which have met the requirements set by several ministries, including the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Coordination of investments.

The program will see the reopening of shopping malls followed by non-commercial tourist sites, as well as hotels, restaurants and cafes that are not located in malls.

“One of the requirements of this health protocol trial is the use of the PeduliLindungi app. This is not an entrance ticket but a first screening, ”said Fadjar.
