The UK’s top 10 tourist attractions, as voted by the public

As summer approaches, many of us plan family outings and vacations to attractions that interest us. But how to decide? Most of us will turn to a review site to help us decide where we’re going, and most often that site is Tripadvisor.

As we turn to outings and staycations, Tripadvisor has released its ranking of experiences and attractions in the UK.

The title of Top UK Experience goes to a High Speed RIB Cruise on the River Thames in London. This experience also ranks eighth in the world and third in Europe. If you are a bit of a daredevil, this activity is for you. In a rigid inflatable boat, soar over the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, and Shakespeare’s Globe while listening to a high-octane soundtrack. Once you reach Tower Bridge, your skipper accelerates to speeds of 35 miles per hour (55 km/h) and makes tight turns guaranteed to boost adrenaline levels.

There are so many amazing attractions on offer here in the UK. Other notable winners include the City & Beatles Tour in Liverpool, a Walking Tour of Bath and the Chocolatarium Tour Experience in Edinburgh.

The West End Musicals Silent Disco Tour of London is the second highest rated pop culture tour in the world and this London Pub Crawl ranks third among the world’s best wine, beer and spirits experiences.

This year’s awards show that some of London and Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks still remain popular with travelers around the world, but it’s the Roman Baths in Bath that are rushing to take the top spot. People who have visited the museum rave about the exhibits and the learning experience and many are impressed with the value for money. These top attractions are sure to be busy during the summer and those planning a visit would be wise to plan ahead, if they want to avoid the queues.
