Muscat: Bearing in mind the ongoing heavy rains in the Sultanate, the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) on Sunday took the decision to temporarily close all tourist sites in Oman.
The decision was made due to the large number of accident reports as well as people’s disregard for the warnings and instructions.
Rains continue across Oman
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said heavy rain was recorded in several parts of Oman today.
In the latest weather update, the CAA said: “Convective thunderstorm movement and activity continues over Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates, with chances of rain of varying intensity. of different heights are flowing over southern Al Sharqiyah governorate with chance of rain.Thunderstorms continue over parts of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and southern Al Batinah with continued heavy variable intensity.
Water pipe repair in progress
The Omani Company for Water and Sanitation Services in Jalan Bani Bu Ali Wilayat in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate today treated one of the water pipes in the affected wilayat due to the strong flow of Wadi Al Batha.
Engineer Jassim bin Muhammad Al Zari, in charge of Al Sharqiyah South Governorate Operations Manager, said: “According to the emergency plan, after one of the water pipes was hit, the Water supply from the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali has been diverted through the other reservoir, which will help supply the affected areas, but with less water pressure.
He added that some areas of the state will experience limited service disruptions, which necessitates rationalization of consumption during the reform period.
