University NGO cleans up tourist site: The Tribune India



Helping Hands, an NGO created by students from Government College Chamba, collected 150 kg of garbage in Khadota, a tourist site near Dharamsala. The garbage was handed over to MC, Dharamsala, for disposal. The NGO said its activists would clean the areas every Sunday. The NGO, formed in 2018, works in the fields of education and the environment.

SFI denounces the new education policy

At its 36th seminar, the SFI unit of the University of Himachal Pradesh launched slogans against the New Education Policy (NEP). Opening the seminar, IFC Secretary of State Amit said the state was withdrawing subsidized education and preparing to hand education over to private actors. He further said that several colleges in the country and the state lacked appropriate infrastructure and faculties, which showed that the BJP central government and the state were not serious about education.

Edu Trust collects clothes for the needy

The Sunil Upadhyay Education Trust collected clothes from citizens for distribution to the needy. Trust secretary Surender Sharma said that like every year the trust collects clothes for the needy and people are enthusiastic about donating clothes. He said the trust had organized various programs such as blood donation camps for the benefit of the people.
