Visakhapatnam: Ramakrishna beach becomes war zone and tourist spot during Milan-2022 | Visakhapatnam News

VISAKHAPATNAM: Ramakrishna (RK) beach here in the town of Vizag on Sunday reflected a war zone as well as a tourist spot, with tens of thousands of people queuing on the beach to watch the Naval Operational Demonstration (Op Demo ) and International City Parade (ICP) during the ongoing Indian Navy Multilateral Exercise MILAN.
The Indian Navy’s Eastern Naval Command has deployed its sea, air and land capabilities, showcasing the power of its fleet. The demonstration of the operation gives the public the opportunity to get a deeper insight into the Navy’s multi-furious activities and the challenges naval personnel face at sea.
The operational demo began with a flyover of the bomb-burst maneuver formation by Hawk fighter jets.
An assault demonstration was given by the Marine Commandos using high-speed Gemini boats, a glide demonstration by helicopter neutralizing anti-national elements, a combat free fall was given by the parachute team of the Navy.
“The first time I witnessed the operational demo and was very pleased and amazed to see the bravery and splendid coordination of the naval personnel. The 30 minute operational demo made us feel like our blue waters are in good hands and that our navy has the potential to retaliate against any type of threat. Congratulations on a great show,” said Siva Kumar, K, a resident of Vizag city.
Gopi Krishna and Ganesh, both software professionals, who came to town for the ICP, said the working demo was so impressive. We liked the aerial parade in formation, the demonstration by naval planes and helicopters, the operations by marine commandos. The events offered insight into operations at sea, they added.
